Gas Lines Rupture After Car Accident

Posted on February 20th, 2013 No Comments

In San Antonio only two weeks ago, a woman’s car ruptured gas lines after being lodged between another car and the lines.

The driver was traveling near the New Braunfels area and was hit by an 18-wheeler traveling the opposite direction. The 18-wheeler driver ran a red light and struck the woman driving her car, and the action caused the woman’s car to veer off of the road and toward a local home, where it was stuck.

As a result of the crash, the gas lines of the home ruptured and CPS Energy had to report to the home to turn off the gas lines and remedy the problem.

After the accident, the passenger of the smaller vehicle was taken to Baptist Medical Center with non-life-threatening wounds.

The truck driver first fled the scene, but returned later. Police arrested the truck driver when he came back to the scene of the accident.

Posted on June 21st, 2012 No Comments

On Tuesday afternoon in Hallettsville, a city east of San Antonio, a fatal truck accident claimed the lives of four people, including a father and his two sons.

The 39-year-old father was driving himself, his girlfriend, and his two sons, ages 10 and 9, to a Van Halen concert in San Antonio. At some point during their trip, the driver lost control of the vehicle, and crossed into oncoming traffic. The passenger side of their vehicle made contact with an 18-wheeler.

All four of the individuals inside the vehicle were killed as a result of the accident. The  mother of the children revealed that her sons were spending their summer vacation with their father, and were looking forward to the Van Halen concert. Investigators are still trying to determine the cause of the accident, but weather and high speeds are expected to play a role.

Our thoughts are with the victims’ families and friends during this difficult time.

The dangers of truck override and underride accidents

Posted on December 9th, 2009 No Comments

One of the most dangerous types of accidents on the road are truck override and truck underride accidents.

Truck override accidents occur when a large truck runs over a smaller vehicle in front, while truck  underride accidents occur when a smaller vehicle slides under a larger truck.

Because of the significant size differences between the two vehicles, small cars are often badly damaged in these accidents. Along with the car damage, individuals involved in these accidents often sustain serious injuries and may even be killed.

If you or anyone you know has been involved in a truck override or underride accident, contact the San Antonio truck accident attorneys of Chris Mayo Injury Lawyers at (210) 999-9999.
