Woman Drives Pickup Truck Into SA Bar, Flees Scene

Posted on October 31st, 2012 No Comments

This morning around 7 a.m. in San Antonio, a female driver crashed a F-250 Ford pickup truck into the side of a bar and then left the scene of the accident.

The driver was traveling south on Quintana Road when she lost control of her vehicle and drifted into the northbound lane of the road. While in the northbound lane, she struck a Hyundai Accent and then crashed through a parking lot before plowing into Dayzee Dukes Saloon.

Witnesses saw the woman exit the crashed truck, and stumble around on high heels in the debris. Before San Antonio police officers were able to arrive at the scene of the accident, the woman ran from the bar. A beer truck driver attempted to chase her, but she was allegedly moving quite fast in her shoes. When authorities made their way to the crash site, they were able to locate the owner of the pick-up truck, and therefore determined the identity of the reckless driver.

San Antonio firefighters also responded to the accident, and are in the process of investigating the crash. Once the woman is located, she faces the possibility of being charged with leaving the scene of an accident. No injuries were reported in the accident, and the damage to the bar is being assessed at this time.

If a reckless driver has left you with injuries and medical bills, you may be entitled to financial compensation. Please contact the reckless driving lawyers of Chris Mayo Injury Lawyers by calling (210) 999-9999 today.

“No Refusal” campaign in place for Fourth of July holiday

Posted on July 2nd, 2012 No Comments

Over the Fourth of July in Texas, suspected drunk drivers will not be allowed to refuse breathalyzers or blood tests if they are pulled over.

This “No Refusal” campaign has been instituted to decrease the amount of drunk driving accidents over the Fourth of July holiday. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the rate of alcohol-related car accident fatalities is the highest over this period. Last year in Texas, there were 308 deaths related to driving drunk on the Fourth of July.

Drivers who are pulled over this year will either have to consent to a breathalyzer test or a blood test. This added measure will be in place in order to deter individuals from getting behind the wheel after consuming alcohol. Officers across Texas have stated that the number of drunk driving fatalities has decreased in the years since the “No Refusal” program has been in place.
