Johnson & Johnson announced on September 7 that it will be recalling 200,000 bottles of Motrin Infants formula due to risks that it might be contaminated by PTFE, which is a type of plastic also used in Teflon coatings.
J&J’s McNeil unit vice president Ed Kuffner told the Associated Press that the company decided to recall the product because the infant drops came in the same shipment as Ibuprofen provided by a third-party supplier that did have plastic particles in it. Both products underwent the same manufacturing process, he said.
The recalled half-ounce bottles have the lot numbers DCB3T01, DDB4R01, and DDB4S01.
