A worker in an oilfield in Karnes County recently was killed after a pipe fell on his head the morning of May 6.
According to reports coming from the Karnes County Sheriff’s Office, the accident happened in a construction site near County Road 249 and F.M. 81, about 8 miles north of Karnes City, when 25-year-old James Burnett had a pipe fall on his head at around 10 a.m. Despite CPR being performed on Burnett, he was reported dead on the construction site.
The construction site is owned by BHP Billiton Petroleum, who said the operations at the site have been stopped and investigations are being conducted.
