Posted on April 15th, 2011 No Comments

A woman in Texas has filed a slip and fall injury lawsuit against Wal-Mart Stores.

According to Harris County District Court of Texas documents, Pasadena-resident Nora Hernandez file the personal injury lawsuit on March 30. The lawsuit alleges that Walmart employees allowed water to pool on the store floor, causing Hernandez to slip.

According to the lawsuit, Hernandez entered Walmart store no. 2724 on April 17, 2009 to buy groceries. The lawsuit claims that Hernandez, who was pregnant at the time, slipped and fell on a substantial amount of water that had pooled on the store’s floor. The brief says Hernandez injured her back, abdomen, and knee in the fall.
Hernandez is asking the court for actual damages plus court costs.

A spokesman for Wal-Mart Stores said the company does not comment on pending litigation.
