A Texas man was killed in a San Antonio auto accident Thursday.
According to officials with the Texas State Patrol, 64 year-old Bandera-resident Donald R. Ball was killed in a bus accident shortly after 12:30 p.m. Thursday on Interstate 10. Police say Ball was driving a tour bus east on the interstate when he drove through a median, off the shoulder, and down an embankment.
Lieutenant Eric Garcia said the bus went through a right-of-way fence and a storage facility before coming to rest against an apartment complex.
Ball was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. He sustained life-threatening injuries and died at a hospital shortly after the auto accident.
Alcohol does not appear to be a contributing factor to the crash, Garcia said.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the victim’s family and friends during this difficult time.
